Gospel Value for the Term Virtue for the Fortnight

TRUTH CONFIDENCE
Confidence is having faith in something or someone. It is a kind of trust. When you have self-confidence, you trust that you have  what it takes to handle whatever happens. You make sure of yourself and enjoy trying new things. When you are confident in  others, you rely on them and confide in them.

The children have been saying the following affirmation:
“I am confident. I love to try new things and I give them the best I have to give. I appreciate my gifts. I welcome new possibilities.”

SPECIAL CHARACTER:
All classes have begun a new strand in Religious Education lessons this week: ‘Sacrament’. Please see the enclosed sheet which gives details of what each class will be covering over the next few weeks.

This Sunday is our first school/parish mass for the term. We would love to see all families at mass this Sunday at 11am at St Philomena’s to share the celebration of the eucharist with us.

Virtue for the Fortnight - CONFIDENCE
An example of Confidence in the New Testament is as follows: JOHN 6: 47-51

“I am telling you the truth: he who believes has eternal life. I am the bread of life. Your ancestors ate manna in the desert, but they died. But the bread that comes down from heaven is of such a kind that whoever eats it will not die. I am the living bread that came down from heaven. If you eat this bread, you will love for ever. The bread that I will give you is my flesh, which I give so that the world may live.”

Welcome back to Term 3 everyone. Where is the year going? We have another exciting term of learning ahead and we look forward to working with you and your children over the next couple of months. It was wonderful to have a holiday break with such beautiful weather. Everyone seems to have returned to school refreshed and ready for another term
