Gospel Value for the Term
JOYFULNESS.....MATTHEW 28:7-8
"Go quickly now, and tell his disciples, ‘He has been raised from death, and now he is going to Galilee ahead of you; there you will see him!' Remember what I have told you." So they left the tomb in a hurry, afraid and yet filled with joy, and ran to tell his disciples."
SPECIAL CHARACTER:
What a wonderful celebration we shared last Sunday. Congratulations again to all the children who made their First Communion. A very big apology to Samantha Megchelse and Charlotte Vickers who made their First Communion at St Joseph's Parish and I left their names out of the newsletter by mistake last week. Thank you to the families that shared this special day with us. There were 52% of our children at the Mass.
FIRST COMMUNION:
A message from the organisers of the children's Glasses for First Communion. The cost was incorrectly calculated so an extra $1.10 per child is required to cover costs. If you have not yet paid the total cost is $5.60. Please send the money in an envelope marked "FIRST COMMUNION GLASSES" to the school office. We will forward the money to the parent that purchased the glasses.
MASS IN SLOW MOTION:
You will notice there is a pamphlet about "Mass in Slow Motion" in with the newsletter this week. I spoke about this at mass last Sunday. It is a series of sessions that help us reflect on the Liturgy to form us and lead us to a fuller and deeper participation in the Mass. The sessions are run by Bishop Peter and three staff members from the Catholic Diocese in Palmerston North. Please see the pamphlet for details and ask me if you would like more information. We would love it if you could join us at what promises to be inspiring, interactive sessions.
PARENT INTERVIEWS:
Please see the insert for times for Parent Interviews which are being held 2nd & 3rd June. Please return your preference for day and times back to school as soon as possible. Interim reports will also be discussed and given out at interviews.
